Edwin Cannan (1861–1935) was a British economist and historian of economic thought. He taught at the London School of Economics, where he served as chairman for many years. He is best known for his extensive editing of Adam Smith’s An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations, and he also wrote widely on production, distribution, capital, and money.
