When the archive's PDFs were scanned or produced 1995–2025
2009 alone accounts for 1,039 of 3,921 dated files (26%), the single biggest year of scanning or production in the archive's history.
The Liberty Archive started as the archive of works David Veksler assembled while serving as webmaster of Mises.org from 2004 to 2014. It holds 945 books, 3,374 journal PDFs across 18 periodicals, and 2,732 course recordings (1,520 hours). Every other total, down to the page counts and the byte totals, is on the statistics page. The engineering record explains how the archive is built and governed.
The companion wiki
This archive holds the primary texts. Its sister site, The Austrian Economics Wiki, holds the reference layer: 1,415 encyclopedia articles restored from the 2014 Mises Wiki, covering the Austrian School and classical liberalism: the schools and their business cycle theory, the economic calculation debate, and biographies of the writers whose books are shelved here. Where a book or an author on this site has an article there, the page links to it.
Current research
My economic research and policy comparisons carry the archive's questions into modern data, with visible vintages, explicit measures, and direct links to the primary texts behind each debate.
License
Original site text, source code, and documentation authored by David Veksler are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. This licence does not cover the archived books, journals, recordings, transcripts, covers, portraits, imported descriptions, or other third-party material. See the rights and licensing page for the exact boundary and attribution format.
Each book's rights are shown on that book's own page. 203 of 945 books currently carry a Creative Commons licence.
Course recordings and their transcripts
Book chapters and the lecture transcripts are also published as a packaged dataset on HuggingFace, one row per chapter or lecture with its own rights basis, for anyone building on this corpus directly rather than crawling it.
