About the Author

DR. ORVAL WATTS is an economist. Teaching is his career. He has taught economics to college students for seventeen years — at Harvard University, Clark University, Wellesley College, Antioch College, Carle-ton College, and Claremont Men’s College.

He has taught economics to businessmen as economic consultant, lecturer and author. His twelve years in this work overlapped his college teaching somewhat and included positions as economist for the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and The Foundation for Economic Education. He is now serving as economic consultant for Freedom Clubs, Inc., as well as for several leading business concerns in Southern California.

He contributes to various magazines which concern themselves with public affairs; he is a columnist for Christian Economics. His books: Why Are We So Prosperous?, Do We Want Free Enterprise?

The Foundation for Social Research is an independent non-profit, non-political organization devoted to carrying on research projects in the social sciences.
