A. V. Dicey's classic account of the English constitution, first published in 1885 and here in the fifth edition of 1897. It sets out the sovereignty of Parliament, the rule of law under independent courts, and the place of constitutional conventions, and it has been a standard text in British and Commonwealth constitutional thought ever since.
