Longfield's lectures from Trinity College Dublin, delivered in 1833 and printed in 1834. Setting aside the labor theory of value, he explains price by demand and the productivity of capital, and argues that trade unions cannot lift wages above what supply and demand for labor allow. Later economists read the book as an early anticipation of marginal analysis.
