Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk (1851–1914) was an Austrian economist, professor at the University of Vienna, and three-time Austrian finance minister. His two-volume Capital and Interest (1884, 1889) built the Austrian School’s theory of capital and interest and included a detailed critique of Marx’s labor theory of value. A student of Carl Menger, he counted Ludwig von Mises and Joseph Schumpeter among his own students.
