A book of 1827 in which Malthus criticizes the terminology of Ricardo, Say, McCulloch, and others and proposes his own fixed definitions of some seventy economic terms. Its central complaint is that disputes in the science often turn on loose or shifting words, above all the meaning of value, and it shows how the classical economists argued about method.
